I have been busy making cards but can't seem to find the time to post them as well. </p><p>Here are the cards I designed for my card class this month and I am entering the bird one in the <a href="https://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/">Just Us Girls</a> challenge for the last half of March. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjre-C232fejl-q0PwE6ohrDr86M3S47krwCDxosjrHEElKJj2yp2wRWX7oO5f-ZTkH6_uU-pBfcHpzH3AHp3lNMHzwzBXpbMcoY3WcP9J2KXf5UGblopIXE4VSX1QzTv_D4HG9h7RJ9hDFhKRT2SyxbAQRIMESYuGfs8fh_Reh4mdj9Pl9rqywX-2uXuc/s640/Toucan.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjre-C232fejl-q0PwE6ohrDr86M3S47krwCDxosjrHEElKJj2yp2wRWX7oO5f-ZTkH6_uU-pBfcHpzH3AHp3lNMHzwzBXpbMcoY3WcP9J2KXf5UGblopIXE4VSX1QzTv_D4HG9h7RJ9hDFhKRT2SyxbAQRIMESYuGfs8fh_Reh4mdj9Pl9rqywX-2uXuc/s320/Toucan.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The background paper on this one is some wrapping paper that I saved for a while and finally decided to use it - it worked well for a rather jungle background for my Toucan. She had asked me to make her a bookmark. I tore the edge of that panel and added it to a background I had stenciled. I added a frame for the bookmark to slip into. Not really fancy but she liked it. I am still behind, but maybe I will get caught up before Christmas. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5DAyIlVZdrQDodyqB-cc2gwnIKB_Vj_vc_v9kOY9iM22oKHuBR9Q7FHLj1AA9jfjrxtNOg55dd1QOcZnT5CgDUJBcwnFIfgaFiSIWcwGhko0vXDLQES3p0SCrYcNwiIsAOlhIoNC_tXbVLCiSzLg5ZeIcikPJEqqKTh_Ygt5buJrz0t-UnahhQwdIXCM/s640/Noel.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5DAyIlVZdrQDodyqB-cc2gwnIKB_Vj_vc_v9kOY9iM22oKHuBR9Q7FHLj1AA9jfjrxtNOg55dd1QOcZnT5CgDUJBcwnFIfgaFiSIWcwGhko0vXDLQES3p0SCrYcNwiIsAOlhIoNC_tXbVLCiSzLg5ZeIcikPJEqqKTh_Ygt5buJrz0t-UnahhQwdIXCM/s320/Noel.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I've also been preparing for a Card class that I do each month. I just love this little fox from Hello Bluebird Stamps. He just looks so purposeful pushing his pumpkins along. The large border stamp on the bottom of the card is one very old Stampin' Up wheel that I took off the wheel and mounted on cling foam. I did that with all my wheels and now I use them a little. I never could keep those wheels running straight, so never used them. Now they just stamp- much easier. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;"> </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioi-cwxWp8d9G1cws_3BPxi9PY3SFiMbXwZ6XKwiylq-Rz_2qI8JIqZgoJbNzkN3v27GcnqHlgbv7Kkr3lYJtYLQuzPCZzCzTc3MHQOaNWU66nA-ii9IfejBI1RLSfdSQTt2y4Iw3bmh1ZhAo4y-4LSH7t-oPKDzCfLv4xyrcpcLz6cw1uptxYWQF-5To/s640/Card%20and%20Bag%20set.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="480" data-original-width="640" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioi-cwxWp8d9G1cws_3BPxi9PY3SFiMbXwZ6XKwiylq-Rz_2qI8JIqZgoJbNzkN3v27GcnqHlgbv7Kkr3lYJtYLQuzPCZzCzTc3MHQOaNWU66nA-ii9IfejBI1RLSfdSQTt2y4Iw3bmh1ZhAo4y-4LSH7t-oPKDzCfLv4xyrcpcLz6cw1uptxYWQF-5To/s320/Card%20and%20Bag%20set.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">My last post I forgot to add the picture of the card I sent to Jeanne in MN. He brought me a cupcake, or I should say a craving for cupcakes. So, I have been baking and seeing this bear with his cupcake all month. I did get to enjoy eating a few cupcakes though. This is such a fun card and I love the design gundi made for the bear. The stars and the cupcake with stars on it make it very well coordinated. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh83jyqZwMDvIHZzNvRIl2mmKLqWnbw77-CeBwsiHJjVjnEJntgknwGN4luVrU20ZW6ZnIMlhbPkT33zZwfQw7duJlgw7WKDGKZDxUi2xbRAswCrHAbBK4n_5-5QQxa5BKv4d4VbojVkYwb9_Pitwb-dvHwsBx9bVX865mTp-bs5mfKeNpRSEkmTX1s6Po/s640/Gundi's%20Bear.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh83jyqZwMDvIHZzNvRIl2mmKLqWnbw77-CeBwsiHJjVjnEJntgknwGN4luVrU20ZW6ZnIMlhbPkT33zZwfQw7duJlgw7WKDGKZDxUi2xbRAswCrHAbBK4n_5-5QQxa5BKv4d4VbojVkYwb9_Pitwb-dvHwsBx9bVX865mTp-bs5mfKeNpRSEkmTX1s6Po/s320/Gundi's%20Bear.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I just signed up for the Card Chain Challenge for November. Christmas will be here before we know it and I still do not have enough cards made, but I am getting closer. </p><p>Here are a few cards I have made lately. The Simon Says Stamp Challenge this week was Anything Goes. So I made a Christmas card with a SSS set called Gifts of Christmas. </p><p>It has a lot of different elements in the set, but I chose to use the bucket full of Candy canes and greenery. I used a radiating hearts stencil behind the stamped and die cut elements. I am entering these two cards together in the challenge. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUt7W70rB4wWVP_rQJcpKQ2ddZIL0jEkOtu7Z3boj_Vm7waXQxkuOI_77RDfe5fIAnpRT8MJaZJsd-17lku_8lKli_qS-BlVMe0ladf-rJ1KAXlxDOGQMG8PS1AOtwa-2Dns67yXv-P7SCyptEWfDyJVf1_P1sZxhsQJ0KQ0LruohAfOsC44etLCVQjC8/s640/SSS%2010-29.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="480" data-original-width="640" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUt7W70rB4wWVP_rQJcpKQ2ddZIL0jEkOtu7Z3boj_Vm7waXQxkuOI_77RDfe5fIAnpRT8MJaZJsd-17lku_8lKli_qS-BlVMe0ladf-rJ1KAXlxDOGQMG8PS1AOtwa-2Dns67yXv-P7SCyptEWfDyJVf1_P1sZxhsQJ0KQ0LruohAfOsC44etLCVQjC8/s320/SSS%2010-29.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I also participated in Justine Hovey's 12 Days of Christmas last week. And Norway is a long way from Texas, so I am hoping that the card arrived today. It had not yet arrived on Sunday. Since Gail only posted one picture of the card part way opened on the reveal yesterday, I am thinking it may have not arrived in Mondays post like we were hoping. But I am going to take the chance that Gail will not look here before the card arrives and I am posting both pictures of the card. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTfG598zPZPhfLn7-ZChKhBdVK_D-OaqCPgWoFJU73veQNBb6Xluge0uxrAAFA-fCRgoaC2jARTGUADUp0vEAqfVQAsBH32OVUcPq3e4jHbuG3tsB1_ioZ1uYzEUPTWnJrN_JFH8HUjkItYPZ_0NHcromap4enV_S4a_dbRsaHvq76EGk0p06ckXBFWAo/s640/Gails%20Card%20CCC%20Sept%20-%20partially%20open.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTfG598zPZPhfLn7-ZChKhBdVK_D-OaqCPgWoFJU73veQNBb6Xluge0uxrAAFA-fCRgoaC2jARTGUADUp0vEAqfVQAsBH32OVUcPq3e4jHbuG3tsB1_ioZ1uYzEUPTWnJrN_JFH8HUjkItYPZ_0NHcromap4enV_S4a_dbRsaHvq76EGk0p06ckXBFWAo/s320/Gails%20Card%20CCC%20Sept%20-%20partially%20open.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1GGvLCVmBXMPxMdvZgFUEINrjisO7OGOAFPB5xI7BcsuUhjM3wHUYjcebfE35k_NjLQhUoil6LF72mX_i7JqeR55CbUAYUB0_mZ8cZF-EEVMPow2kCUmDBrgPZr_OfGI-M4SbXblMn6Bh8OsCrk0ia6t-8LXeIc2fyZUvAv8yzlFnLAhbfPWz3Ir_dCc/s640/Gails%20Card%20CCC%20Sept.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1GGvLCVmBXMPxMdvZgFUEINrjisO7OGOAFPB5xI7BcsuUhjM3wHUYjcebfE35k_NjLQhUoil6LF72mX_i7JqeR55CbUAYUB0_mZ8cZF-EEVMPow2kCUmDBrgPZr_OfGI-M4SbXblMn6Bh8OsCrk0ia6t-8LXeIc2fyZUvAv8yzlFnLAhbfPWz3Ir_dCc/s320/Gails%20Card%20CCC%20Sept.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I used the sketch somewhat this month and pretty much used the colors. I tried it out this morning and then realized I needed to get a card in the mail for our nephew's birthday. The set, Waterfront by Stampin Up was out on my desk from using them to make a card sample for a class I will be teaching tomorrow. It's been ages since I've used the Waterfront. The ladies wanted to do watercolor and make a card. I don't feel like I'm qualified to teach them Watercolor, but I can help them make a card that looks pretty much like it. <span style="text-align: center;"> </span><span style="text-align: center;">The ladies who are coming to class have not stamped at all, most of them anyway - Did I bit off more than they can handle??</span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi75VZMsG5F_pmwDa5noHpC2BGblmp-kIUVGnzj78130ScztCndMqf8BAMi4K6YxJE7-3j2Neow5MjG5QLaWp6DrjVby21IeWzcsgNioWty4aobJsTxDlrdbRmM-ll-gXzliGMg26PU4OfCMWutLOuHmmJyK4FwPt3gO0xFJei6zGaLwQpGO9V5BG8zUMg/s640/Waterfront%20class.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi75VZMsG5F_pmwDa5noHpC2BGblmp-kIUVGnzj78130ScztCndMqf8BAMi4K6YxJE7-3j2Neow5MjG5QLaWp6DrjVby21IeWzcsgNioWty4aobJsTxDlrdbRmM-ll-gXzliGMg26PU4OfCMWutLOuHmmJyK4FwPt3gO0xFJei6zGaLwQpGO9V5BG8zUMg/s320/Waterfront%20class.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>Then I did our nephew's card with just a band of the scene. We are in that area once in a while but have not taken the time to hook up with our friends very often from our old neighborhood. But we did that a couple of weeks ago and it was so enjoyable. We met over a meal (of course) and had a good visit and were able to catch up on what was happening with at least one couple. We should do this more often and with larger groups or we will lose touch with everyone eventually. </p><p>A couple of weeks ago I made this little Christmas Card with a snowman on it. I decided to hook him up with some friends today by entering the car in the Christmas Kwickstart Challenge. <a href="https://christmaskickstartchallenge.blogspot.com/">Christmas Kickstart Challenge</a>, He will be making new friends. </p><p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2d-dd6CIiFXomkCo8sMWPSGTESA-arulqmY2RcjfMXyzjVyHxrUyjeCOIBpJ7TxjQKLbk29pBzLs6Q0NmZTyMc5aLRCh7xef72BUSRCpEaK-lI-ti6K6XEp1GCx3ddFcjJEO98XCqPzPcOyflJ9vGG6YAQ_bj-qKcsYd8qVUvlrustU5KPmp4U3FzXnQ/s640/Snowman%20Magic.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2d-dd6CIiFXomkCo8sMWPSGTESA-arulqmY2RcjfMXyzjVyHxrUyjeCOIBpJ7TxjQKLbk29pBzLs6Q0NmZTyMc5aLRCh7xef72BUSRCpEaK-lI-ti6K6XEp1GCx3ddFcjJEO98XCqPzPcOyflJ9vGG6YAQ_bj-qKcsYd8qVUvlrustU5KPmp4U3FzXnQ/s320/Snowman%20Magic.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">New dies and a piece of gold foil paper (already cut) found in my scrap box led to this Christmas card. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNXYYCyf9YZnJNCkMx34UAWGbm2spXrQzuctGyG2bnjmzTFiiJDlk_qOMl2HZDCU9un2O2h2FpHSQpR5l95FKh7txq0DgCnF3pr8bOAcz-wpMCFPIgj3S5F8LdFhFBIsMolVy5cDpVgs0kg-JgCQQ2_3MjStS0tILm6FYHipmhzvkY60OAPzcYwgzOte0/s640/Gold%20and%20White%20Nativity.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="480" data-original-width="640" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNXYYCyf9YZnJNCkMx34UAWGbm2spXrQzuctGyG2bnjmzTFiiJDlk_qOMl2HZDCU9un2O2h2FpHSQpR5l95FKh7txq0DgCnF3pr8bOAcz-wpMCFPIgj3S5F8LdFhFBIsMolVy5cDpVgs0kg-JgCQQ2_3MjStS0tILm6FYHipmhzvkY60OAPzcYwgzOte0/s320/Gold%20and%20White%20Nativity.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">It's been many months since I've been able to play in the Challenges on Splitcoast Stampers. I used to do so well at sharing my work. </p><p>Here is a try at getting my Christmas cards caught up. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge4rVGmcmV7IrOWUyEMNIQx6g-76lE8bT9Azs9RifY9ViM5XfZLlDT1tK3_5N35SAuiSokpLQj4346RNC1rTfSFx-r0tNj0gnXhfmfi0p_lDFDsFrKVpws6g-RKpSgYzl-cqsbSl1JMvA/s640/Christmas+wreath.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge4rVGmcmV7IrOWUyEMNIQx6g-76lE8bT9Azs9RifY9ViM5XfZLlDT1tK3_5N35SAuiSokpLQj4346RNC1rTfSFx-r0tNj0gnXhfmfi0p_lDFDsFrKVpws6g-RKpSgYzl-cqsbSl1JMvA/s320/Christmas+wreath.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">It's simple but a start. I need to many more to get caught up. <br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And poor Viv was sending her card to me for the June card Chain challenge. She sent it off only to have it returned by the UK post office. She had to send it again. I applaud her efforts to get it to me and luckily, she didn't have to pay to send it a second time as it was the post office mistake as to why it came back. Here is her beautiful card. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMAWdLcgQ3kVL92PwkG6vFCShanbvtkJLU74bn7dE1cYov__BeW40xYZKy5iZdZzCz-92MyZPo1vqGZOjGN-kSJHi4Y78Is774VrUR5A_vPYn_D45TIl6thmWw1r0gnf4oV9CDrWRdRupZb2wCWOUFdGwwlawpxXwn5zD-EayAWySOJ8x-8udVDswN1cA/s640/Viv's%20Card%20June%2023%20CCC.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMAWdLcgQ3kVL92PwkG6vFCShanbvtkJLU74bn7dE1cYov__BeW40xYZKy5iZdZzCz-92MyZPo1vqGZOjGN-kSJHi4Y78Is774VrUR5A_vPYn_D45TIl6thmWw1r0gnf4oV9CDrWRdRupZb2wCWOUFdGwwlawpxXwn5zD-EayAWySOJ8x-8udVDswN1cA/s320/Viv's%20Card%20June%2023%20CCC.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here is the card I sent out to Julia in MA for June</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgz_ShPs88_wqrRS9XKDxbl4IeAisGKjgLKyZTU-qNE8yfIlfYTMdrIQagH4rGf_e0PGljVNTVwrAfjGvuNMr7CMWwbW7s5WbqfHx0npgjXvZvcH0w00LaDtE7yA5W9oZcGtrtnx6y2mBUnRzNi978MXgL2BQ9ARIZx4TBVJMwPl7u16kcr8qpOC0SA7iQ/s800/Gorguss%20Smile.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="533" height="336" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgz_ShPs88_wqrRS9XKDxbl4IeAisGKjgLKyZTU-qNE8yfIlfYTMdrIQagH4rGf_e0PGljVNTVwrAfjGvuNMr7CMWwbW7s5WbqfHx0npgjXvZvcH0w00LaDtE7yA5W9oZcGtrtnx6y2mBUnRzNi978MXgL2BQ9ARIZx4TBVJMwPl7u16kcr8qpOC0SA7iQ/w224-h336/Gorguss%20Smile.jpg" width="224" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And here is the one I sent out to Dee in Kenya in July<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBxknIgiEeaHmTb6XTvrUjNbbdNEDtDDzadAaIKPgM2nDkxBrfRzbnztM-qrKI9KyHmbZk8eIDQYab3fiAnoyTJE7n33c9U84FF3DSeeVAOw5O8EZ7JgrfGNyhoqFE6L15FEyDsBoBvUQxs15YoADbofyw5WY-n4JtCp_jwPsbo90yy05r3OdPoRv6HOs/s640/CCC%20July%20to%20Dee%20Kenya.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBxknIgiEeaHmTb6XTvrUjNbbdNEDtDDzadAaIKPgM2nDkxBrfRzbnztM-qrKI9KyHmbZk8eIDQYab3fiAnoyTJE7n33c9U84FF3DSeeVAOw5O8EZ7JgrfGNyhoqFE6L15FEyDsBoBvUQxs15YoADbofyw5WY-n4JtCp_jwPsbo90yy05r3OdPoRv6HOs/s320/CCC%20July%20to%20Dee%20Kenya.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So next post I will catch you up a little more on what I have been doing in my card class and the other cards I have received from the Chain Gang. </div></div><br /><p><br /></p>Patriciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06170896615526681892noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7552100972776595187.post-68633699819366846522022-11-06T21:59:00.002-08:002022-11-06T21:59:46.902-08:00Papercrafting in a different way. <p> This whole year I have been doing a lot of reading. So I've been paper crafting in a different way, reading the paper pages of books. Just thought I would mention a couple of books that I have really enjoyed. </p><p><a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/52761909-the-paris-library" style="background-color: white; color: #00635d; font-family: Lato, "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;" title="The Paris Library">The Paris Library</a><span style="font-family: inherit;"> </span><span style="font-family: helvetica;"><a class="authorName" href="https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/2920231.Janet_Skeslien_Charles" itemprop="url" style="background-color: white; color: #333333; font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;"><span itemprop="name">Janet Skeslien Charles</span></a><span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-size: 12px;"> </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-size: 12px;"> </span></span></p><table border="0" class="table stacked" id="books" style="background-color: white; border-collapse: collapse; color: #181818; font-family: Lato, "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; margin-bottom: 10px;"><tbody id="booksBody"><tr class="bookalike review" id="review_5089867188" style="border-color: rgb(238, 238, 238) transparent; border-image: initial; border-style: solid; border-width: 1px 2px; width: 744px;"><td class="field title" style="line-height: 18px; margin: 0px; padding: 12px 5px 5px 0px; vertical-align: top; width: 182px;"><div class="value"><a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/25813942-this-tender-land" style="color: #00635d;" title="This Tender Land">This Tender Land</a> <a href="https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/71170.William_Kent_Krueger" style="color: #00635d; text-decoration-line: none;">Krueger, William Kent</a></div></td></tr></tbody></table>But I have also been doing a lot of card making and sending. <div> Here is my card sent out for the Card Chain Challenge in October to Kati in Germany. </div><div>It has a lot of highlighting with irridescent medium on the dry embossed background. There are lots of talented ladies in this group! </p><p> Here is my card received from Arlene this month, barely getting it up before the end of the month. Isn't this just the sweetest little warren of rabbits. I hope they don't eat those red mushrooms. I think they will go for the sweet smelling flowers instead. This card is so amazing IRL with all the details Arlene added.</p><p>Her blog is <span style="color: #2b00fe;"><a href="https://arlenesbits.blogspot.com/">Here</a></span> </p><p> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKUkNO9oX2waSzVyMyKe_tz2zPIMOiMqSJeG7GT__g95hyUTwZqXMCANWSP_AUZSyr65bqZJvEaKkTp8nuqnr8AV3xFXMrfxtG8OopD4ERfm7ipBdC8uSaqnyCF7zGHh4YIGnJzJK3ZEUdQDQY7XdhJMScG85ei1rZmZ9dtv9IobUrxuo_ezaJdmac/s309/Forrest%20Bunnies.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="309" data-original-width="231" height="309" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKUkNO9oX2waSzVyMyKe_tz2zPIMOiMqSJeG7GT__g95hyUTwZqXMCANWSP_AUZSyr65bqZJvEaKkTp8nuqnr8AV3xFXMrfxtG8OopD4ERfm7ipBdC8uSaqnyCF7zGHh4YIGnJzJK3ZEUdQDQY7XdhJMScG85ei1rZmZ9dtv9IobUrxuo_ezaJdmac/s1600/Forrest%20Bunnies.jpg" width="231" /></a></p><p>This is the card I sent out to Lou in Austarlia. I feel like she was cheated after receiving the wonderful card I got. I will have to up my game. I followed the Friendship theme and used the sketch for my card. </p><p>Come join in the challenge and add your name to the fun. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpUa2-BB5HvLyoQvijZNaMINmsviIoaGyKmmqJ2WcnIGhszdl_dq9K1HM2VkZOXw5j8aXxw37f-3GYC5PwNnMpGY6UihrJSSKhSSsXTCpa6kNgMCFhZHLzPDZMNwq0URsqvrfZOgZpbrOHB3nAER0VI99tFcAC2b5V-FyKG8OUntArZ4G6_smDSp_o/s320/Circles%20.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="320" data-original-width="240" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpUa2-BB5HvLyoQvijZNaMINmsviIoaGyKmmqJ2WcnIGhszdl_dq9K1HM2VkZOXw5j8aXxw37f-3GYC5PwNnMpGY6UihrJSSKhSSsXTCpa6kNgMCFhZHLzPDZMNwq0URsqvrfZOgZpbrOHB3nAER0VI99tFcAC2b5V-FyKG8OUntArZ4G6_smDSp_o/s1600/Circles%20.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here is the card I received in February from Debbie M. Covid-19, corona virus, call it what you will started in about February. It was easy to stay at home for the first two weeks that we were asked to Quarantine. But after about two months I started getting a little stir crazy. Now because Texas still seems to be getting way too many new cases, I feel like I should continue to stay home although things have started opening up. Our area has very small numbers of new cases, but the area I would like to go to is one of the worst in new numbers. Although I would bet that those numbers are coming from the inner city more than the suburbs. Guess I'll just hold tight in my little East neck of the woods and be safe. <br />
So I have been making lots of cards and sending them during this time. My card group did meet in June, but we are taking another look at July. Not sure yet whether that will be a go. <br />
<br />
This fun card was one I did for a Splitcoaststampers Challenge, actually two challenges. One was the Color Challenge and my card was chosen as the Favorite for the week of that challenge. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The other challenge was the Teapotters Challenge. We make cards and send them off to someone who is experiencing hard times and could use some cheering on. So this one has already been sent off to Sandra. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I'll put a few more pictures of some of the favorite cards I've made in the last few weeks. </div>

I've been going back to flowers and finding new stamps. Power Poppy has some beautiful sigital stamps. I've purchased a few. The Hyacinth is one of those. The Poppies are Stampin Up. They are really wonderful with the dies added to the stamps! I couldn't help but buy both of the bundles that had poppies in them. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
These three are fun with a little different techniques on the second and third. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The first one is a set I bought from Altenew. Its called Extra Special. It's a pretty stem of flowers. I colored it pinks here with the no line watercolor look. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The second card with the big circle of flowers is a digital image that I colored with Copic markers. Lots of pretty flowers in the image. The unique part of this card is the impressed circles around the flowers. Those were done with dies (lots of circles) all stacked together and then using a silicone mat run them through the Big Shot to impress the paper rather than cut. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The third card is one that I used white CS and heat embossed borders of flowers on the card. Then using distress inks I sponged orange and yellow inks around the flowers and into the center of the card. Then you take a wet paint brush and with clear water paint the flowers. The water lifts off some of the ink giving you a lighter look to the flowers. I'm wishing the ink would have been a little darker and I could go back and ink some more but I am happy enough with the pretty flowers and these colors. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So that takes us up through most of Feb and March. I have many more cards I'll try to show you in the next few days. Stay Home - Stay Safe. I have to keep reminding myself of that now. Because I really want to go SOMEWHERE!</div>

New Year - Same Old Me </div>
January and February seemed to zip right by me. But I did have some time to make cards. Here are a few of them. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCEdSKN7JS5zeg04Blypr6w1s7pnYQ9Caao2RTDlO2jtb6YC8-dhNFTwBXAenregvNFv4PQ8YrAS4lMxt14LegO1eVdgNHH0QOvLbe7N4D25ngxJeeRRUxon7JdwxVJoj2-ABkbpnRJUc/s1600/IMG_4958.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCEdSKN7JS5zeg04Blypr6w1s7pnYQ9Caao2RTDlO2jtb6YC8-dhNFTwBXAenregvNFv4PQ8YrAS4lMxt14LegO1eVdgNHH0QOvLbe7N4D25ngxJeeRRUxon7JdwxVJoj2-ABkbpnRJUc/s320/IMG_4958.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
It is always interesting to see the difference that changing colors can make in the look of a card. The one above was made after I made the lower card and did not like the white butterfly on the white card stock. But give it a darker background and it looks great. In fact, I think I like it the best out of the two butterfly cards. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHn1b4KsUNP9ev-J1-AB-2R41d-lPh_D9M-UtCCfXrLuJgnaLA-hZN0N5OiEAHyOXM9eDslgBO2Fouq2azaPhjWGZIQ-4yunPN3rJU2ZbRccJQOGtfSAm1Y0-HvOsu3nvL0kmgrNeDlcQ/s1600/IMG_4959.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHn1b4KsUNP9ev-J1-AB-2R41d-lPh_D9M-UtCCfXrLuJgnaLA-hZN0N5OiEAHyOXM9eDslgBO2Fouq2azaPhjWGZIQ-4yunPN3rJU2ZbRccJQOGtfSAm1Y0-HvOsu3nvL0kmgrNeDlcQ/s320/IMG_4959.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
We made the white version for card class in January. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This stinking cute little guy was the star of the second card for January class . I haven't used this punch as much as I need to. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

When the Spring mini catalog came out I knew right away I wanted this bundle. I love the flowers and the gate. The little kitty and the lovely flowers really make a wonderful card. I simply followed the design of the card in the catalog to make this one. I've yet to try other versions from the set. Maybe I should buy fewer things at one time and then I could play with each one longer before getting excited to try another set. <br /><br />

<br />
"Take the attitude of a student, never be too big to ask questions, never know too much to learn something new." ~ Og Mandino<br />
<br />
<br />
I totally agree with it. We should always be learning. No matter how much knowledge we have in a subject we can always learn - whether from a scholar or from a infant child. <br />
<br />
I came across a couple of pictures of two of our granddaughters leaning - thought I would share with you. <br />

We have lots of fun and usually get 4 cards done on that day. Some days it takes a little longer than other days. <br />
Here are the cards we will be doing on October 9. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgybpk96yGgW151PNTsN5eB13VnwE8JEl3SH08hD86Ztuy8WEJZCyViWtrTnkgW_ysHLWptovZEmlROsiLRakeEd6XckkhjuPlhjth_KQtVBJOk5GkalOWqk1xwIKhVuUE0yybfaHGhd-k/s1600/DSCN2702.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgybpk96yGgW151PNTsN5eB13VnwE8JEl3SH08hD86Ztuy8WEJZCyViWtrTnkgW_ysHLWptovZEmlROsiLRakeEd6XckkhjuPlhjth_KQtVBJOk5GkalOWqk1xwIKhVuUE0yybfaHGhd-k/s320/DSCN2702.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
This is the inside of the card, called a Lever card. They are fun to make and the tutorial can be found here: https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/levercard/<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This is the front of the card. Can you see how the image panel swings through the window opening? <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This card is a fun technique called Joseph's Coat. Hope my embossing powder holds out. I need to order a new bottle. That's all the fun for today. Patriciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06170896615526681892noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7552100972776595187.post-22959389790552613802018-09-15T09:35:00.000-07:002018-09-15T09:35:29.146-07:00Soon the Fan Club Dirty Dozen Gallery will have September cards up on the Splitcoaststampers website. It has been fun for the last three months being part of the Dirty Dozen design team. <br />
<br />
I have had time for a few other cards though besides the Dirty Dozen cards (which I cannot post here for a little while longer) so I'll show you a couple more of those I've been making. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS-pz_lcxIGfR_qrQYFnJnjIxdgCIll8gh6tUX77jwERFngBjaKctWYoMxnhXYqaNyjI_x6ljmNdxRfGkDcnmdnORiyTam2_v2YXzYAr296iJDt6ZuSaDmKsAtAOtNl5zMTJXpRJNbI_4/s1600/House+Mouse+Sundae.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS-pz_lcxIGfR_qrQYFnJnjIxdgCIll8gh6tUX77jwERFngBjaKctWYoMxnhXYqaNyjI_x6ljmNdxRfGkDcnmdnORiyTam2_v2YXzYAr296iJDt6ZuSaDmKsAtAOtNl5zMTJXpRJNbI_4/s320/House+Mouse+Sundae.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have a few stamps of little Cocoa Mouse from Sweet and Sassy stamps. They are so much fun to play with and color. I used a popsicle stamp for the background on the card base. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3XfcK0HSoXuNkBoRSccLltOM-wo2TR5vGjO-WruQyqRvRbQaH27apz8pXCjFJL5by7F5DoVL8Kf2qk41XukByP1dsO-9pxowBc3XMxK2SFed7t3uLnufbiK6jwodq2NqUW1yW7uld0jU/s1600/IMG_2484.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3XfcK0HSoXuNkBoRSccLltOM-wo2TR5vGjO-WruQyqRvRbQaH27apz8pXCjFJL5by7F5DoVL8Kf2qk41XukByP1dsO-9pxowBc3XMxK2SFed7t3uLnufbiK6jwodq2NqUW1yW7uld0jU/s320/IMG_2484.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This card was made with paper that is actually Easter paper but I liked the bright colors for a pleated effect under the badge stamped image. Also used the window frame thinlits from Stampin Up. I haven't used those for quite a while so it was good to dust them off. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlrgquei4v4_Sk-y9hRs_HeTTrQUPiKAEMjtp2sI94ktqASmqsOwFn_28d7MlmMpY4NbKrwpm3eraM9JxwrvwrxuTqakMucZfb73LwFderQPHsmO8ZPv-Muitfw-M_BUmuUVBBu4z5rIs/s1600/IMG_2486.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlrgquei4v4_Sk-y9hRs_HeTTrQUPiKAEMjtp2sI94ktqASmqsOwFn_28d7MlmMpY4NbKrwpm3eraM9JxwrvwrxuTqakMucZfb73LwFderQPHsmO8ZPv-Muitfw-M_BUmuUVBBu4z5rIs/s320/IMG_2486.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have also been trying to use up the designer papers I have, because I have tons of it. Maybe it's not literally a ton, but I have enough that I may never use it up in this lifetime. I combined a DP background with some die cut shapes from SU Eclectic Layers Thinlits and from their Swirly Scribbles thinlits. </div>

I have thought about it for a while and decided to give it a go.<br />
I will share a few of my thoughts and hobbies here. Most of my free time is spent crafting, mostly paper but occasionally a few other things. So cards will be my main focus. Don't be surprised though to see some sewing, baking, gardening or other crafts. <br />
<br />
To begin with, thought I'd show you a few shots of my recent cards. These are some of my favorites I have made while participating in Dare to Get Dirty Challenges on Splitcoaststampers. <br />
