Cards Through Covid 19

It's been several months since I've posted anything here.  Covid-19, corona virus, call it what you will started in about February.  It was easy to stay at home for the first two weeks that we were asked to Quarantine.  But after about two months I started getting a little stir crazy.  Now because Texas still seems to be getting way too many new cases, I feel like I should continue to stay home although things have started opening up.  Our area has very small numbers of new cases, but the area I would like to go to is one of the worst in new numbers.  Although I would bet that those numbers are coming from the inner city more than the suburbs.  Guess I'll just hold tight in my little East neck of the woods and be safe.
So I have been making lots of cards and sending them during this time.  My card group did meet in June, but we are taking another look at July.  Not sure yet whether that will be a go.

This fun card was one I did for a Splitcoaststampers Challenge, actually two challenges.  One was the Color Challenge and my card was chosen as the Favorite for the week of that challenge.

The other challenge was the Teapotters Challenge.  We make cards and send them off to someone who is experiencing hard times and could use some cheering on.  So this one has already been sent off to Sandra.

I'll put a few more pictures of some of the favorite cards I've made in the last few weeks.

I've been going back to flowers and finding new stamps.  Power Poppy has some beautiful sigital stamps.  I've purchased a few.  The Hyacinth is one of those.  The Poppies are Stampin Up.  They are really wonderful with the dies added to the stamps!  I couldn't help but buy both of the bundles that had poppies in them.

These three are fun with a little different techniques on the second and third.
The first one is a set I bought from Altenew.  Its called Extra Special.  It's a pretty stem of flowers.  I colored it pinks here with the no line watercolor look.

The second card with the big circle of flowers is a digital image that I colored with Copic markers.  Lots of pretty flowers in the image.  The unique part of this card is the impressed circles around the flowers.   Those were done with dies (lots of circles) all stacked together and then using a silicone mat run them through the Big Shot to impress the paper rather than cut.

The third card is one that I used white CS and heat embossed borders of flowers on the card. Then using  distress inks I sponged orange and yellow inks around the flowers and into the center of the card.  Then you take a wet paint brush and with clear water paint the flowers.  The water lifts off some of the ink giving you a lighter look to the flowers.  I'm wishing the ink would have been a little darker and I could go back and ink some more but I am happy enough with the pretty flowers and these colors.
So that takes us up through most of Feb and March.  I have many more cards I'll try to show you in the next few days.  Stay Home - Stay Safe.  I have to keep reminding myself of that now.  Because I really want to go SOMEWHERE!

Marching On

The year continues Marching on - too fast for my liking.  I have been busy making cards but can't seem to find the time to post them as...
